Whale watching in the Sea of Cortez is one of the most impressive natural experiences in Mexico.

Every winter and spring, thousands of whales migrate to these warm, nutrient-rich waters from the northern Pacific. Known as “the aquarium of the world,” the Sea of Cortez provides ideal conditions for observing these marine mammals in their natural habitat.
During the season from December to April, visitors can observe species such as blue, humpback and fin whales, and occasionally orcas. While humpback whales are recognized for their spectacular jumps and songs and blue whales are distinguished by their immense size.

Tours are conducted on pangas guided by experts. Between January mid and March, it is particularly common to observe mothers swimming with their calves, as these waters serve as vital breeding and nursery grounds.

Please note that we prioritize responsible whale watching to protect the animals and their environment. Our tours strictly follow regulations regarding safe distances and reduced speeds to avoid disturbing natural behavior. These measures ensure the continued preservation of the Gulf of California’s biodiversity.
